Designing for Education

The seven finalists in the 2010 challenge to the Designing for Education - a competition for designers with the participation of students to dream and to find solutions to the problems of children in the developing world - are fiendishly clever. They have everything from e-health (a schedule of soap) for education for the blind (Braille-embossed mat) for the health of girls' (a maxi pad made of papyrus).
The contest is non-profit has called the finalists recently, in collaboration with UNICEF. Now in its second year, the competition is aimed at getting students to think about design as a force for social good. The aim is to uncover the real challenges facing the world today, this is the claim made by Liza Chong, oversees the competition, students design must involve not only in designing a solution based on the market, but also to build skills and confidence so that solutions can be implemented in time.
