New airplanes, 70% less fuel

A team of MITlad has designed a green which is estimated to use 70 percent less fuel than existing aircraft and simultaneously reduce noise and emissions of nitrogen oxides.
The design was submitted by a team led by professors of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, submitted to NASA under a contract of $ 2,100,000 invested in research to develop concepts and environmental performance to help guide the search aircraft over the next 25 years.
the objective is to develop new concepts for assessing the potential of these airplanes that burn 70% less fuel and 75% less NOx emissions. NASA also required that can take off from short runways. This project began and may have any notice in 2035 - the year when air traffic is set to double - and that would require a radical change.
