Investigated in lead poisonings of China


On Saturday after more than 1,300 children were poisoned by pollution from a manganese processing plant .
The investigation has officials echo and its goal is to punish those responsible for the poisoning caused by the Wugang Manganese Smelting Plant in Hunan province. The incident is been claimed in days after reports that emissions from a lead smelter in another province.
The plant in Wenping , Hunan province, started in May 2008 without the approval of the local environmental protection office, within 500 meters of a primary school, a middle school.
The government of Wugang city in Hunan province claimed that 2 officials from the city's environmental protection office were being investigated .
Fears of poisoning among villagers in July when many children were affected to colds and suffered fevers.
