There is a HUGE yoga event in New York City that is being hailed as “the world’s largest yoga event” and is being sponsored by Flavorpill and JetBlue. It is being held in Central Park.
This event is hoping to have around 10,000 participants and is open and welcoming all skill levels.
There will be some big names in Yoga in attendance. Wah, Reggie Watts, DALIEN, and even Buddy Wakefield will be there. They will be offering spoken word, drumming, live music and even stand-up comedy to all in attendance.
Yoga mats (sustainability and earth friendliness not withstanding) will be provided by JetBlue.
Everyone needs to be active in some sort of way and Yoga is beneficial for everyone, It is a low impact, noninvasive way to get fit and stay physically in shape.
Yoga has been around for centuries and actually originated in India. Some historians even place the origins of Yoga at 900 BCE. It is a culmination of practices designed to discipline both the mental and the physical aspects of the body. In all actuality, it has been used in practices of meditation in more than one religion. Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism all use yoga.
