Ride a bike for a greener world

Ride a bike for a greener world Desperate situations need desperate measures and this is truly applicable for the ecology of the world that is on the brink of ecological disaster. One of these measures is the initiative to ride a bicycle in order to give rise to a world that is less polluting. One of the trips that a lot of bicycling enthusiasts love is that of French Louisiana trip which is known as the Cycle Zydeco. This is a trip that spans as much as 200 miles as it passes through Cajun as well as Creole areas.

There are about 350 people or so who participate in this trip and organizers provide them with local music, food as well as dancing to spice up the evenings after the cycling before the day is done. The advantage of this trip is that it allows people to use their own power to visit new places, meet a lot of people and also have a great time in a totally eco-friendly way. This is one way you can see the country up, close and personal in a way that is not possible while traveling by car or bus by a long shot. This is because cyclists get connected to nature in an inimitable way.

Cycle Zydeco is an event that has a history of just about 9 years and it has been put together by the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission as well as other sponsors.

This is just one of the many bicycle trips organizing for non profit organizations that have sprung up in recent years. The largest of these trips is the Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride which happens across Iowa and which sees as many as 10,000 cyclists making their way over 500 miles in Iowa’s rolling hills filled territory every July.
The main objective of all these cycle trips is to introduce the habit of cycling among people while also drawing attention to the urgent need for adopting an ecologically sustainable lifestyle that does not pollute and damage the environment.
