What exactly is organic cotton?
It is crystal clear that has something to do with ecology but as the trends go, this specific fabric becomes more and more popular being compared with the traditionally grown cotton. The truth is that the organic cotton is not the result of studies or spectacular discoveries. On the contrary, the methods used to grow it are pure and simple chemical and pesticide free. Also during its growth the producers do not use any kind of fertilizers.
The use of pesticides and fertilizers is completely eliminated, the organic cotton being grown exclusively through bio agriculture.
Certified organizations follow the growth process and certify the correct usage of these new methods.
So far , USA leads the market of organic cotton followed closely by Turkey, India and Peru.
So far the fashion industry seems very fond of the concept and more and more brands are becoming environmentally sensitive using the more expensive organic cotton for high class fashion items.
The Swedish giant H&M started since last year’s collection a limited edition of 100% organic cotton products to extend this fall to an entire label collection made from the same fabric.
The clothing was specially labeled and made quite a furor with the socially sensible celebrities with a taste for eco trends.
The underwear from basic structure to lace was all high quality cotton.
The men were not forgotten and for them H& M created spectacular underwear as well as T-shirts and jeans.
