Green Roofs for the smart houses of the world

During history the grass roofs have slowly appeared in those parts of the world where the building materials were very limited. The “green roof” is mostly considered as being a European phenomenon and this type of houses are often found in suburban or country zones.
In England and Scotland the phenomena seems to be very common and in the Orkney region of Scotland there are green roofs since 3600 b.Ch. This type of constructions is found in some of the Scandinavian countries like Iceland and Greenland who have a tradition in this type of buildings.
The modern society came with a large variety of building materials for anybody who wants to build and the tradition of using green plants as a building material has been adopted as the logical step for the ecological houses. This came as a result of the situation in which the concrete and glass buildings are huge heat retainers and in conclusion huge polluting sources.
The green roofs are keeping the building temperature low during summer and adopting this measure on a large scale would help the thermal isolation by reducing the temperature on the level of the entire city (it has been proved that in the country areas during summertime, the temperature is lower by 12 degrees that in the cities)
The new but in the same time ancient solution for the green roofs has become very popular in Europe and turned into something stable in the urban development agenda. Because of the recent trend established by the world governments the activity of making the roof tops green can help people save in pollution taxes so the house owners do not hesitate to make their best and use the options.
The green rooftop has two major qualities it increases the temperature variations by absorbing the humidity and radiation from the air and in the mean time cools the building replacing the air conditioning cooling systems.
