Gyre de la Zigloo – the underwater skyscraper

Gyre de la Zigloo – the underwater skyscraper Developed as a floating concept, Gyre de la Zigloo, comes to complete a daring underwater project completely able to become the best on the environmental friendly buildings in the world. Ambitiously thought to be a first in the area of sustainable underwater building, the project promises to be a rewarding challenge for the American designing company that came with the idea.
The purpose of the project will be that the scientists and tourists will be able to understand the ocean without polluting its delicate ecosystem.
Reaching to a depth of 400 meters, the construction of this building will offer living space and a comfortable working environment, including space for shops, restaurants, gardens and fun activities.
The tower is in essence a stratification of concentric rings with a size variation from 30.000 square meters to 600 square meters. With a total surface of 212.000 square meters, Gyre will be an establishment inside the ocean entirely fueled with sustainable energy.
The unique design of the Gyre tower will allow the integration of the systems able to harvest the sustainable energy from wind, sun and see. As a plus the wind energy will be resulted from the vertical wind turbines while the solar energy will be generated from the windows which will be impregnated with solar cells. The rain water will be harvested through mechanical systems and deposited in sweet water basins.
Gyre will be able to harbor ship docking on the sea surface area and underwater the building will accommodate living quarters, a hotel and even a cinema. The project is unique because of its ability of producing the necessary energy by itself.
Resembling a lot the Eiffel tower upside down, the ambitious project will for sure encourage the idea of underwater constructions able to sustain themselves energetically
