Ford launches "your ideas" on its interactive website for consumers, (www.thefordstory.com), welcomes visitors to present, share, review all the ideas characteristic of each automotive

The Web portal is the latest demonstration of Ford's commitment to contribute to the exchange of ideas, to develop the next must-have technology, and guide the spirit of open innovation.

Ford has been actively modernizing its Advanced Product Marketing, Planning and Innovation research community to include suppliers, universities and most non-automotive technology expertsFord draw is one of the largest and most extensive resources of the world - consumers - to discover new ideas best automotive technologies.

Marking today's opening of the SAE World Congress, Mark Fields, president of Ford, America, announced the launch of a new initiative that promotes the company's commitment to open innovation. The new section Your Ideas History Ford (www.thefordstory.com), the brand's interactive Web site for consumers, visitors are invited to submit, share and suggest ideas and technologies.

Ford continues to push when it comes to engaging consumers. It seeks to go beyond the traditional consumer market research, surveys and focus groups. Ford addressed the social Web as an innovative way of generating new ideas vehicle features customers really want and value.

The pilot session of "your ideas" gives consumers the opportunity to participate in a community setting where you can review the ideas submitted and keep track of what people think about leaving their suggestions. Ideas that get more "thumbs up" from spectators will be elevated to a more popular idea list and review by Ford Advanced Product Marketing and Planning team.

The "Your Ideas" forum covers the range cars, soliciting input from consumers on categories ranging from connectivity and vehicle comfort and convenience to fuel performance and safety.
