Country's First Hybrid Vehicle

Mikhail Prokhorov, the 39th richest man in the world, has created his fortune in finance and production of precious metals. More recently, it acquired a stake of 80% of people with New Jersey Nets basketball team. But what to do with a basketball team lost is easier than last outing Prokhorov. The billionaire is spending $ 198,400,000 for the construction and sale of a 'petrol / electric hybrid cars in Russia, a country that has not exactly embraced sustainable energy initiatives.
E-Mobile will cost about $ 10,000 when it launches in 2012. This is ultra-cheap for a hybrid, although prototype Prokhorov is more like a Pinto than a Tesla Roadster - an engine and a loud voice, to boot. The car also has a top speed of 81 mph and a fuel efficiency of 67 miles per gallon.
The vehicle, a joint venture between the holding company of Prokhorov and Onexim Yarovit Russian truck manufacturer, will not be based on non-existent Russian market for its hybrid sales, e-Mobile will be marketed in Europe, according to PhysOrg. In the end, Prokhorov also plans to release a hybrid mini-van and cargo vans depending on the vehicle.
Will the success of Prokhorov? It 's hard to say - anyone with his influence has been trying to sell a hybrid in Russia before. But consider: Part of the success of the Toyota Prius in the U.S. can no doubt be attributed to the perceived reliability of the company in the production of vehicles. For all its successful projects, Prokhorov has no experience in the industry and potential clients know it. If Prokhorov is to succeed, must prove that the vehicle is not just the fantasy of a bored billionaire investment.
