On line or Off line? : Rich

New Pew study finds that better-educated Americans remain the most politically active demographic, and it’s not depending from using internet.
It seems locic that the great democratizing power of the Internet and the development of social media have influenced a new era of online civic engagement, where the voices of rich and poor influence are flattened from new media, first of all internet,
But, with great surprise, a Internet and American Life Project study, say that the more politically active are online user, just as the offline “not user”.
Pew found that the disparities between civic engagement between rich and poor Americans were close identity when compared online and offline political activities.
Pew did find a modest good changing in the level of political participation through online channels such as social networks and blogs, though the researchers concluded that the transformative power of the medium has yet to fully materialize in the form of civic engagement.
“We are witnessing major changes in how the public takes part in politics but the ultimate outcome remains to be seen.”. This is what Sidney Verba, a professor of government at Harvard University and a co-author of the study said.
