Some Canadian scientists have discovered a new way of conducting genetic studies with the 'use of a game to decipher the human DNA.

The new project, called Phylo, was launched by a team of McGill University in Montreal on November 29. Players are given permission to acknowledge and order their human genetic code that appears in a format similar to Tetris. Phylo, allows users to analyze genetic codes in random or in order to remedy actual DNA-related diseases. In a casual game, a user is assigned to find portions of DNA linked to exudative vitreoretinopathy and 4 vesicoureteral reflux 2.

The game is designed to harness the creative thinking of players: the human brain is more efficient than any computer can. Recognize patterns and order in the human genetic code falls into that category. This is an opportunity for people to use their free time to contribute very important for medical research.

Players can choose from a variety of categories such as digestive diseases, heart disease, brain diseases and cancer. All portions of the DNA of the game are linked to various diseases. Once completed, analyzed and stored in a database, McGill intends to use the results of players' in the game to optimize future genetic research.
Phylo developers, Alex and Gary Kawrykow Roumanis, inviting players are intent on normal, rather than academics. Phylo has a Facebook page and active. Although the game could be fun, players will essentially be the optimization of the analyzed data for researchers. And with the ability to make a significant difference in disease research.
