
when you hear talk about "networking event" many automatically think of "selling".
you think a room full of people who know nothing of you and your product, that viewers are ready to listen.
When it comes to networking is not about sales or marketing. Networking allows you to meet new people and give them the opportunity to learn something about your person. And you can learn more about the needs of your audience.
Here are three important points so as to avoid when meeting new people:
1. Do not give business cards too soon. When handed a business card it says implicitly the person with whom you are speaking you want to interrupt the conversation.
If you are at a networking event and there are stickers, enter your name along with your company name, to let people know who you are.
2. Not speak much unless Nonsi speak or ask of you. More talk, unless you know someone else. However, some people might actually be interested in what you have to say if they are interested.
3. Often the numbers do not count. there are some people who say you should not spend more than 5 minutes with a person, but people always remember you if you stay to talk with them longer. People are more inclined to introduce you to their friends after they had a chance to meet you.
