Chinese Internet Start-Ups

In an office on the outskirts of Beijing, a dozen young programmers are busy trying to make their first million with an open Internet.

An Ran established website design and development company Alltosun two years ago. Most customers are young people whose clients include Chinese, British and German companies.

The IT design and development has raised 7.27 billion yuan ($ 1.1 billion) revenue in January and February, with an annual growth of 24.5%, according to the latest government data.

American International Data Group saw an investment opportunity in the Internet industry in China in 1992, when Patrick McGovern decided to set up IDG Venture Capital and invested in start-ups like Tencent QQ and Baidu.com which gave growth in internet services in China portal and search engine, respectively.
IDG VC now manages a fund of 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in China with a substantial share in the IT industry. Of the 200 companies argued, fifty have gone public or been acquired by other companies.

Another Chinese, Nanjing has developed a website mourning.
